BakerRipley, one of Texas's largest nonprofits with over 100 years of experience, is a Houston-based community development organization that strengthens vulnerable neighborhoods. They provide a wide array of resources, including educational programs, financial assistance, community centers, childcare, career development, small business support, and technology - all aimed at empowering children, seniors, veterans, immigrants, and families to access new possibilities. Through this comprehensive approach, BakerRipley has a long history of positively impacting the lives of Houstonians.
BakerRipley Brand Style Guidelines for Brand Refresh
As the art director's assistant, I designed BakerRipley's promotional materials and collateral, then incorporated them into mockups to be included in the branding and style guidelines. These design samples allow the audience to visualize the brand identity and understand how to properly use the brand assets across various applications. By showcasing the design work, employees, designers, and partners can now comprehend the style direction of the brand refresh.
Brand Refresh
BakerRipley's brand refresh was essential for expanding its community reach and brand awareness. Leveraging solid branding and a well-designed visual identity, BakerRipley can establish itself as a reliable, community-focused agency.
Roles: Graphic Design, Photo Editing, and Assisted the Art Director
BakerRipley Branded Presentation Slides
As part of my responsibilities, I designed a diverse range of branded presentation templates for the entire agency to use. This included approximately 40 unique slides - title pages, section dividers, text-focused layouts, content and image slides, and closing "thank you" slides - all featuring a variety of engaging visual styles that aligned with the new agency branding. The goal was to create a vibrant, visually-compelling set of templates that could be efficiently implemented across meetings, corporate events, and other presentations, thereby minimizing the time required to produce branded materials while ensuring brand consistency.
Roles: Presentation design, Layout Design, and Graphic Design
BakerRipley Social Media Design Templates
The company sought to reach both existing and new audiences through a strategic social media presence. With a brand refresh, we aimed to be more active and interactive, sharing news and updates to keep our audience engaged. As the social media lead, I created eye-catching, scroll-stopping posts featuring vibrant colors, bold text, and a balance of visuals and messaging. The goal was a playful yet clear social media aesthetic, with templates available for all employees to use.
Roles: Graphic Design, Social Media Design, and Layout Design
BakerRipley Flyer Design Templates
To promote BakerRipley's ongoing events, I was tasked with creating a comprehensive set of flyer templates. This allowed employees across departments to easily customize the content without having to design the flyers from scratch. By providing a curated selection of over 100 pre-designed flyer options, I ensured brand consistency at all levels, preventing non-designers from creating their own divergent designs.
Roles: Layout Design, Print Design, and Graphic Design
Earn, Learn, Belong, Be Well Infographics and Icon Design
BakerRipley's core aspirations are Earn, Learn, Belong, and Be Well. They aim to help people increase their income, engage in educational programs, feel welcomed in their centers and community, and improve their overall wellbeing.
To visually showcase these aspirations, corporate leaders requested infographic cards. The goal was to present the data in a clear, well-designed format for an upcoming meeting. To maintain consistency, I assigned each aspiration a distinct color. I also created individual icons to accompany the corresponding aspirations, allowing people to easily visualize the associated statistics.
Roles: Illustration, Graphic Design, Layout Design, and Photo Editing
2023 Turkey Trot Sponsorship Packet
As the annual Turkey Trot approached, I was tasked with updating the event's sponsorship branding. The Turkey Trot has its own distinct visual identity, yet maintains clear ties to its parent brand, BakerRipley. While the color palette is consistent, the typography and other assets differ from the main BakerRipley brand. The aim is to generate excitement and encourage participation in the Thanksgiving Day marathon.
Roles: Layout Design, Graphic Design, Photo Editing
